TaVi ? the Tavistock and Villages Development Forum (formerly the Tavistock and Villages Initiative) ? has expanded its co-ordinating committee with eight new members, but is still keen to find another five people as it moves into a new phase of operations. The organisation, which was part of the original Market and Coastal Towns Initiative, is planning to become a company limited by guarantee with a board of directors. The new committee members are Andrew Thompson, Ross Grieg, David Best, Chris Grove, John Taynton, Simon de Groot, and Anna Kennedy. They join Roy Connelly, Philip Sanders, Rob Mulliner, David Incoll and Caroline Keane. Christopher Kirwin, chairman of TaVi, said the new members have strengthened the organisation as it prepares for its new structure. ?Our new members bring a considerable wealth of experience and will help us develop over the next few years. ??We have resolved to become a limited company which will put us on a much sounder footing, and because of this new direction we still have vacancies for five people.? Anyone interested in joining TaVi should contact the organisation?s office in Canal Road, Tavistock, or telephone 01822 813600. Among the projects supported by TaVi is the recent Food Festival, and other projects are in the pipeline, and the organisation is keen to receive more applications from Tavistock and the surrounding villages.
