Plymouth Grammar School Old Boys B 3

THIS was another fighting performance from Tavistock who again just missed out on points. Having played the top two teams and just missed out, playing the fifth positioned team was probably going to be just as tough.

Tavistock started brightly by passing the ball around and within the first few minutes were ahead from a clinically finished goal by Danniels.

The match continued with pressure going towards the home side and another goal looked likely.

It was at this point that Tavistock changed their approach and decided that not passing was the route to success. This gave possession to the opposition and the pressure mounted with the inevitable equaliser.

In the second half following some good interplay by Aveyard and Heard, Andrews slotted a well worked goal. This was better play from Tavistock but it was not to last, as the holding game returned as did the pressure, which the visitors struggled to contain.

PGSOB's worked two goals to give themselves a lead which Tavistock fought hard to reduce. The last 10 minutes was all one way, as Tavistock battered the home side goal and nearly equalised in the last few minutes.
