MIRACLES will be the subject of the next talk at the Taste and See meeting in Tavistock.
Marianne Grinter, whose talk is entitled 'I believe in miracles', is the oldest speaker Taste and See has welcomed — and a charismatic character.
She started life as an actress at Nottingham Playhouse and ended up moving to Devon and started a family. She had to make a choice between a career in theatre and her family — and the latter won.
She retrained and worked as a certified accountant but maintained her involvement in the theatre.
After the sudden death of her husband in her late forties she became increasingly involved in Christian ministry. She trained as a reader in the Church of England and has been actively preaching and leading retreats around the UK and in other parts of the world.
The talk takes place on Thursday October 13 at the Terrace Restaurant in Tavistock at 7pm for 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 for two courses with a vegetarian option and can be bought from Georginas pet shop on West Street. Tel 01822 617277.
Taste and See is open to all women of any age and is organised by a committee representing the churches of the Tavistock area. Newcomers are welcome. For further information contact Ruth Newman on 01822 616859.
