A NEW series of evening talks at Burrator Reservoir is due to take place this autumn, following the success of last year’s programme.
The monthly evening talks, which take place in the Discovery Centre, have so far covered the construction of the reservoir, history of the farms, tin working, the railway, woodland management, birds, butterflies and wild plants.
A spokesperson for South West Lakes Trust said: ‘During the consultation phase for the Burrator Heritage Project it was identified that the majority of people didn’t know how rich in heritage the Burrator area is. In addition, it was found there was a lot of interest in the provision of a themed talks and walks programme, for people to learn about specific areas of Burrator’s historic and natural environment.’
New subjects will include bats, Dartmoor stories, myths and legends. To find out more visit www.swlakestrust.org.uk
