THE devastating conflict in Syria will be the subject of a talk in Tavistock on March 23.

Dr Alam Saleh, lecturer in Middle Eastern Politics at Exeter University, has entitled his talk, ‘Syria: Imperfect Present and Tense Future’.

Dr Saleh has published extensively on Middle Eastern issues and has lectured for the MOD on security and conflict in the Middle East.

He has taught at the universities of Durham, Leeds and Bradford.

Students in Bradford’s department of peace studies voted him the most helpful lecturer in 2012-13.

This event takes place in the United Reformed Church, Russell Street, Tavistock, beginning at 7.30pm. It is organised by Tavistock Peace Action Group
