AN exciting concert of music for saxophone and piano can be enjoyed next Wednesday, November 7, at Kelly College when Sarah Field (saxophone) and Simon Lepper (piano) will play 'A Musical Spectrum'.
Sarah Field won the Royal Overseas League competition Main Solo Award for Woodwind and Brass in 2000 and the NFMS Award for Young Concert Artists. She has broadcast on Classic FM and Radio 3 and appeared at the Edinburgh Festival. Her debut at the Purcell Room was made this year and she has played at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Wigmore Hall. For three years Sarah has toured here and abroad with Yehudi Menuhin's Live Music Now! scheme.
The programme will include J S Bach's Sonata in G Minor, Debussy's 'Rapsodie', Vaughan Williams' 'Studies in English Folksongs' and Milhard's 'Scaramouche'. Simon will play Preludes by Chopin and Rachmaninov.
The concert begins at 7.45pm in the Melvin Hall, Kelly College, Tavistock. Tickets £8 (£6 concessions) at the door. Accompanied under 18-year-olds admitted free. The event is supported by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust and arranged by Kelly College Concert Society.
