Truro C 1

Another gritty performance saw Tavistock continue their winning ways and enabled them to stay at the top of table.

It was Tavistock who started the game with most purpose and this enabled them to enjoy much of the possession.

Good work on both wings saw repeated attacks, and this lead to a short corner being awarded; a powerful first strike from Jake Doney put the visitors in the lead and it looked like Tavistock's fluid passing would bring futher goals.

However this goal seemed to spur the home team on and it was Tavistock who were placed on the back foot, absorbing countless short corners but defending well. Goalkeeper Neil Kelly put in a fine performance and Tom Hansom chasing down the strikers.

The second half saw the game continue at pace with Truro being awarded a penalty when captain Bob Cowen stopped a strike on goal, this time with his foot. This was converted with a well taken flick from the Truro striker.

With less than ten minutes remaining Jake Doney pushed forward beating seven Truro players. A short corner was awarded and following a number of saves from the keeper, Matt Edwards pounced and scored what was to be the winning goal with a fine reverse shot.
