Ten brave swimmers of all ages from Bere Ferrers and Bere Alston participated in a charity swim in the River Tamar to raise funds for Ukraine last Sunday morning at Weir Quay Boatyard. A few people kayaked instead; afterwards everyone gathered for hot chocolate and bacon rolls. Georgie Acland and Chris Martin from the boatyard thanked everyone for their support. They raised a total of £113.80 from donations and all profits made from the sale of refreshments, snacks and hot food and drinks which was given to the Red Cross.
