South Devon League division 4 Chagford Reserves 2 Totnes and Dartington SC 4ths 5 CHAGFORD were slow to get out of the blocks and found themselves three goals behind after 14 minutes. T&D were overwhelming in their forward play, winning the ball strongly, breaking quickly and scoring with superb strikes that Duncan Vincent had no hope of saving. Chagford woke up, enjoyed more possession and created chances, only to be thwarted by good goalkeeping. As the half wore on, Chagford?s self-belief grew. At the restart Chagford pressed forward and pulled a goal back within minutes. The ball fell invitingly to Colridge 15 yards out and he volleyed a deft lob over the keeper. Mortimore had to take over from the injured Vincent in Chagford?s goal but things still looked promising for the next 20 minutes. Unfortunately, a disputed corner kick then found its way over Mortimore and his defenders to restore T&D?s three-goal cushion. But young striker Mark Williams, who had battled all afternoon, was not to be denied a goal as he stuck the ball home from the edge of the box. In the closing minutes, Jamie Forsey was adjudged to have pushed his man to the ground and the penalty was well despatched for T&D?s fifth and final goal.
