POPULAR local author Lilian Harry will be adding her support to a special book event being staged in Peter Tavy this weekend.

On Saturday, from 10am to 12 noon, Peter Tavy Village Hall is holding a coffee morning and book swap, to raise funds for the hall.

The morning will offer a great way to pick up some interesting new reading material — simply bring along a book you have finished reading, and swap it for a new one to enjoy.

Or why not come along with your children and encourage them to swap their books? Keen readers can bring along two, three or even more books to swap — the only condition is that you take home as many books as you came with! Or simply come along and enjoy a coffee and a chat.

Lilian will be offering a chance to win a signed copy of one of her novels throughout the morning and there will be a prize raffle.

Peter Tavy Village Hall is busy fundraising to continue its programme of improvements. On Saturday March 19 there will be an evening of Tin Pan Alley music from the 1920s and 30s with 'Speakeasy'. On April 2, the sound changes to Bluegrass, with a Villages In Action Concert by 'Jeff & Vida'. For details, call 01822 810868.
