TIM German, director of the Cornwall Sustainable Energy Partnership, will be the speaker at a public meeting to be held in Tavistock Town Hall at 7.30 pm on Friday, May 23. The title of his talk is 'Energy and sustainable development – learning from European best practice'. As an internationally recognised authority on sustainable energy, Tim German is well qualified to speak on this important and topical subject. He has taken the Cornwall Sustainable Energy Partnership from its inception to being the model for energy partnerships in the UK and Europe. In addition to his work in Cornwall he sits on various national and international panels. He has taken part in, and chaired, debates in the European Commission. This public meeting is sponsored by the Tamar branch of the European Movement, a voluntary organisation which supports Britain's future in Europe and promotes better understanding of the European Union.
