THIS friendly football match started with Tavistock on the defensive and it was only due to timely tackles by Susannah Harland and Babs Horton that the opposition did not score.

Short corners were high in numbers against Tavistock but the team were successful in preventing any goals from sneaking in due to the fast running of Fiona Dunn and good concentration from Rebecca Creasy.

Tavistock took control of the last 15 minutes with Emma Bowden and Becky Pitts making some good runs at the goal.

Louise Bott worked hard on the right wing and was a thorn in the Kelly side.

The second half showed a more determined Tavistock and Sue Cork, Sandra Collar and Louise made some excellent passes.

The first goal came from Becky Hutton who got on the end of a strike from Cork.

Kelly pulled a goal back.

Captain Fiona Dunn rallied the team and Rebecca Willey made some excellent tackles and worked hard running constantly up and down the pitch.

Despite the hard work and effort of Tavistock, Kelly had a good strike at goal, which resulted in the final score being 2-1 to them.

Tavistock play this Sunday at a seven-a-side tournament at Lux Park, Liskeard.
