I WAS surprised and disappointed to read the letter from Edna Hicks in last week?s edition of your paper, regarding the issues of development in Okehampton. Surprised that she should accuse Geoffrey Cox MP and Mel Stride of politicising the issue, when in fact they have both worked very hard to lobby the Government to improve the provision of local infrastructure, something that is vital to our town. Disappointed that whilst throwing the political mud, Mrs Hicks neglected to make it clear that she is, in fact, a Liberal Democrat District Councillor for West Devon Borough Council.
