ALL ABOARD! West Devon Borough Council is teaming up with Tavistock Area Support Services (TASS) to provide a free trial bus service to and from its successful outreach surgeries held at the Arundell Arms in Lifton. Covering the areas of Chillaton, Lewdown, Tinhay, Lifton and Liftondown, the service, which will be available initially on July 16, August 6 and September 3, will collect and return you to your door. All you have to do is contact TASS on 01822 616958 by the Friday before the surgeries, which are all on a Wednesday. The outreach surgeries, which are a borough council initiative, bring local services to local people. By teaming up with other agencies, such as the Police and Devon Pound, a comprehensive service is brought out to residents, assisting them with a wide range of issues and enquiries. Cllr Donald Horn, the local West Devon Borough Councillor, a parish councillor and a Lifton Community Project worker also attend the surgeries on a regular basis.
