A TAVISTOCK surgery will soon be providing swine flu vaccines to eligible candidates during an open day this month.
Stannary Surgery were this week due to receive a delivery of the vaccines, along with other Tavistock surgeries, including Wharfside Surgery and Abbey Surgery.
Stannary Surgery is holding an open day on November 12 from 5pm to 7.30pm at its base on Plymouth Road, and Wharfside Surgery on November 23 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm — no appointment necessary.
Dene Medland, one of the practice managers, said: 'The criteria is similar to the ordinary flu vaccine and we are having an open evening on November 12 — so if you do qualify please turn up and have your vaccine.'
To qualify for the vaccine you must be from six months old and over with asthma and on inhaled steroids, diabetic, with any form of respiratory disease, heart disease, kidney or liver disease, neurological disorder, taking drugs affecting immune system, are immuno-compromised, if your main career is as a carer, or a pregnant mother.
