TAVISTOCK windsurfers Saskia and Imogen Sills 2011 had great success in the junior, youth and masters windsurfing world championship last month held in the spectacular San Francisco Bay. It was held at St Francis Yacht Club with the infamous island prison of Alcatraz serving as the leeward mark.
Saskia Sills secured victory in the U17 girls, in a thrilling finale with the world title coming down to the final race, where she held off American challenger Marion Lepert to finish behind fellow Great Britain Emma Laboure. As they came to the finish line Labourne took the win with Sills taking second and the world title that went with it.
Saskia's sister Imogen Sills came through superbly to take third place.
