CONSERVATIVE C produced the shock of the season in the Tavistock Snooker League with a shock 3-2 win at West Devon A —inflicting only the second defeat of the season on them.

There was no sign of things to come when Hurford took out Con's 'danger-man' Bassett to put WD one up. Hitting right back Andrews as stand in skipper made it all square with a victory over WD's Dingle. Emptage restored WD's lead with an emphatic win over Neale. Back again came Con with a good win for Lillicrap over Colin Heathman. Down to the deciding frame West Devon's stand in player Chris Hurford played Con's C Ewings. Ewings produced a match winning display to convincingly steam roller Hurford and with it the shock win of the season for Con C. This win takes Con C one point behind West Devon A.

It was an early Christmas present for West Devon B as they completed their first win in the league for several weeks by beating Con D. John Rich won a tight black ball win over Heartfield, with Bath grinding out a second for West Devon after another tough game with Holmes. Con D hit back with Wilkinson notching up his first win of the season over WD skipper Gilchrist. The WD win was duly completed by Moule in yet another close encounter with Con's Hoare. Con D's Palmer overcame Roger Rich in a 59 minute epic marathon match, another black ball game. With this win West Devon B moved off the foot of the table above Con D.
