Ocean League U11s

Tavistock Girls 10

Horrabridge 0

HORRABRIDGE started strongly with a stand-in keeper saving every Tavistock onslaught. They were fast on the counter attack and Hannah Smith had her work cut out to keep up.

Robyn Hammond and Amy Gale attacked, with back up from Jade Eales. After ten minutes Hammond?s long distance shot went low into the net.

Gale won the ball after a fine tackle and crossed to Hammond to slot home at an acute angle.

A through ball to Hammond was crossed in to Eales for a finely struck goal. Hammond went in goal, letting Rebecca Rose out. She scored within seconds and again almost straight from the kick-off.

Summer Piper, Annie Johnson and Sian Langman played well at the back but Smith was outstanding with tight marking. Shaw set Gale up for a beautiful curling lob into the top of the net to get her debut goal.

Rose scored from a corner and Gale netted her second, but Rose was unstoppable scoring two more fine goals.

Players of the match: Rebecca Rose, Tavistock; Becky Gordon, Horrabridge.

Activate Utd 8

Tavistock Girls 1

ACTIVATE scored quickly from the kick-off but Rhianne Parsons evened the score line with a superb volley after a fine cross from Aisha Macauley. Activate played good one-twos up front.

Louise Galway pulled off some good saves but finding herself one-to-one with a striker time after time the stress told and goals began to go in.

On a wet pitch Tavistock began to struggle and marking was poor with midfielders not helping in defence.

The defence battled hard with Ruth Cole making hard tackles but mistakes from Tavistock were picked up on and Activate finished well.

Player of the match: Louise Galway.
