THE opening of Hatherleigh Primary's new outdoor classroom and shelter was the highlight of a summer fair bathed in sunshine last Friday.

Some of the shelter sponsors were present as Lynn Strawbridge cut the ribbon and Hatherleigh School Association chairperson Judith Grant thanked those involved for their contributions to enable the project to be completed.

The fair had its usual array of stalls and attractions, and a performance from Hatherleigh Silver Band.

A trio of teachers also braved being gunged to raise money. All money raised at the fair will be used to help fund the children's extra-curricular activity programme.

The school association expressed thanks to everyone who supported the fair.
