THE warm dry weather helped to make the annual sports day a great success at Lew Trenchard School last week.
The school decided to hold a 'traditional' style sports day with sack races, egg and spoon races and obstacle races as well as sprints, distance runs and relays.
The final two events consisted of two hotly contested races for mums and then dads.
All in all, the event was a huge success and a lot of fun.
All children received a very welcome ice cream at the end of the afternoon.
Luckily, the school field has plenty of shade from its mature trees and this helped to keep the competitors cool in between races.
l Some of the races are pictured left.
