THE weather was fine for this year’s Peter Tavy Fayre, which drew crowds of people to the village on Bank Holiday Monday.
There was something to entertain all ages, with traditional games, demonstrations of sheep shearing, stalls to browse around and refreshments. As always, the Colley Brook was awash with yellow for the duck race.
This year, at the 16th annual meeting of the ‘Dartmoor Teddy Bears’ Dangerous Sports Association’, daring cuddly toys got an Olympic experience of their own with a ‘power assisted’ long jump challenge.
The funds raised from the event are expected to be around £3,400, to be divided equally between Peter Tavy Village Hall, St Peter’s Church and the Methodist Church.
Fayre organisers expressed thanks to the parishioners who helped make the day such a success and to everyone who came along to support the event.
For the 13th year, the annual Peter Tavy Plod and fun run drew runners to the village. See our sports section for pictures and information on the plod.
