AN opportunity has arisen for a young person aged between 18 to 27 to attend a week long seminar, improving leadership and communication skills. Every year talented young people are invited by Rotary Clubs to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) Programme, which is a blend of physical and cerebral activities. A position has opened for a new nominee as the person who was nominated by the Rotary Club of Yelverton had to drop out at short notice. Tavistock Rotary Club president Russell Woolcock said: ?We are looking for people who have the potential to become leaders in the community, particularly those who for reasons of education or background have not had opportunity to develop their personal and leadership skills. ?The course has been described as probably the best of its kind in Rotary International, and one of the most worthwhile things our district does annually.? For a place on the course, which takes place from July 1 to 8, contact rotarian Martyn Dudden as soon as possible on 01822 870352.
