THE directors of Tavistock Food Festival would like to
thank all those residents of Tavistock and the local area
who supported this year's festival.
Whilst we wanted two dry days it was unfortunate that
both days were proper summer scorchers, resulting in a
goodly number choosing alternative summer pursuits.
However, despite the reduced numbers most visitors and
exhibitors went home happy with the two festival days.
We would like to thank the Rotary Clubs of Tavistock and
Yelverton and Tavistock Business Association for
providing stewards throughout the festival, Tavistock
Lions and Round Table for running the Park 'n Ride
scheme and master chef Peter Gorton for organising the
celebrity chef demonstrations which were in support of
the Children's Hospice South West. Thanks also to Nigel
Eadie of the Old Pasty House for helping to staff the
entrance lobbies, and to our families and friends who
supported us throughout the year and during the festival
itself.

RETHINK'S Service Users' Forum (SURF) would like to say a
very big thank you indeed to all our supporters for their
help in making our sponsored walk on June 22 a great
success.
Over £800 was raised towards the cost of the
photographic and literary exhibition being held at the
Wharf Arts Centre in Tavistock this October, which is a
tremendous result.
The exhibtion aims to show the wealthy of talent which
exists locally within those who have direct experience of
the nightmare of mental ill health.
It also hopes to reach out to people who may be
experiencing despair, hopelessness and low self worth
and encourage them with positive recovery stories.
Thank you again to everyone who helped.

THE Whitchurch Pre-School Committee would like to
thank all those who so generously donated prizes for their
40th anniversary celebrations.
A special thank you goes to the small businesses in
Tavistock Pannier Market who donated so much, so freely.
There are unfortunately too many to name individually,
however I would like to see more local people support our
Pannier Market and the next time they think about gifts,
food, entertainment, antiques, unusual items, etc, think
Tavistock Pannier Market, because, after all, Tavistock
wouldn't be Tavistock without our market.
