Tavistock Ladies CFC 0

Tavistock had to endure another defeat against a very young fit side but battled well but on hard ground and the ball bobbling everywhere they were always second to the ball.

Hammond and Hurley started to push the ball up to Turner and Coker for Tavistock but an early injury to Jones saw them struggling.

Hone ran her socks off and Blowey broke through only to see her shot go wide.

Exeter scored with a well worked one two move and then scored again when a hard shot was well saved but fell at the feet of a striker.

Glasspoole and Maloney linked up well at the back for the visitors and brought the ball up field. Bammons once again gave total commitment and broke through to slot over to Turner who shot wide. Exeter scored again shortly before half time to make it 3-0.

The second half saw both Tavistock's Blowey and Hone struggling to run and with 15 minutes to go manager Sue Hammond came off the bench and made history as the oldest player/grandmother to play in the premier league. Sue also fulfilled her ambition to play alongside daughter Robyn. An early flick by Sue saw Robyn off but a cross to Jones was grabbed by the keeper.

Exeter scored again with 10 minutes remaining but Tavistock battled on and Hammond passed out wide to Jones but once again could not meet the pass back.

Exeter scored again with two minutes remaining and despite several corners awarded to Tavistock they could not score.

Tavistock players of the match were Katie Glasspoole and Carleigh Bammons.

Tavistock have their last match at home when Sue will be retiring from football. All support welcome on Sunday, April 17.
