WEST Devon pupils who attend St Joseph's School will be pleased to hear that it has been ranked first in Cornwall for the second year running for GCSE results.

One hundred per cent of pupils attained five or more A* to C grades including maths and English according to results published last Thursday.

The result places St Joseph's School in the top 100 secondary schools in the country across both independent and state sectors and first in the Guardian table for non-selective independent schools.

Head Mrs Rowe said: 'This superb set of results shows that St Joseph's School continues to provide an exceptional standard of education to all our pupils.

'This is all the more impressive as we do not set an entrance examination.

'These results are a reflection of our investment in small class sizes, which together with the excellent pastoral care and musical and sporting opportunities ensures St Joseph's School offers a firm foundation for life.'
