Tavistock U14s 44 Saltash U14s 7 THE pattern of the game was established from kick-off - driving Tavistock attacks were held by brave Saltash tackling. Good inter-passing and penetrating runs by forwards and backs brought Tavistock into the Saltash 22. James Lockley gathered from loose play and raced throught the defence to open the scoring. Rufus Gould added the extra points. This was quickly followed by a Tom Thursby try after slick passing along the back line. From loose play following a spoiled Saltash scrum, Dan Oner picked up, drove for the line and although tackled short, reached over to ground the ball. From the restart Oner again broke free but was held by the cover defence only for Naill Murphy, sprinting up in support, to take the ball on and score an excellent try. Coach Gould rang the changes at half time to give all his squad a run out. New flanker Tom Rickard took little time to show his ability, first by charging down an attempted Saltash clearance kick and racing over to score, converted by Gould, and then being put in by Josh Leeson following a tap penalty. In between these Saltash scored a converted try. Tavistock came back again and, following a scrum won against the head, scrum half Murphy capped a superb game when he broke blind and raced in to score. With Saltash on the back foot, Tavistock ran in their eighth try through wing Eliott Northmore following good work by the backs.

Tavistock U13s 35 Saltash U13s 0 FROM the kick-off, Coker gathered the ball in his own 22, skirted round the defence and touched down in the corner. In all, seven tries were scored which were the result of fine individual efforts such as Ross?s, where he burst onto the ball at speed to outmanoeuvre the defence, and Bourton?s first, in which he looped around to receive the ball again, as well as impressive teamwork. Try of the day was Coker?s second which started with a lineout on the left of the field. The ball then moved across the backs with each player drawing in his opponent before releasing the ball, Longden perfecting this art, till it got to Coker who raced 20 metres to score in the corner. In the second half there were strong runs from Evans, Rob and Dawe, the latter grabbing himself a brace of tries. This week Crediton at home, 11.30am kick-off.

Tavistock U9s Okehampton U9s TAVISTOCK U9s played their very first game of full contact against Okehampton. It was a superb team effort in which the deluge of rain was only matched by the flood of tries. These came from excellent application of the basics, great tackling, vital support play and dazzling running. Okehampton never gave up and treated Tavistock to some fine hospitality.
