FORCE Cancer Charity has received a nice boost thanks to a coffee morning at All Saints Church Hall which raised £631.

The event was organised by Annette and Michael Bennett. FORCE fundraiser Mervyn Hayes said: 'Our grateful thanks go to the Bennetts and everyone who helped make the morning such a success. To raise so much money from a single event is phenomenal and we are absolutely delighted.'

FORCE supports anyone locally affected by cancer and brings its services to Castle Ham Lodge in Okehampton once a week. Cancer patients, their carers, family and friends are offered counselling, complementary therapies, information and advice every Wednesday from 10am to 4pm.

All FORCE services are offered free of charge. The charity needs to raise £900,000 each year to maintain its services.
