OKEHAMPTON Christian fellowships have agreed to join together for a combined study and time of reflection each Tuesday throughout Lent. Afternoon and evening groups will be run in order to allow a mixture of people to attend. Each Tuesday the afternoon study will start at 2pm and will be held at New Life Church, and the evening study at 7.30pm will be held at Fairplace Church. Each study will take a brief look at the Book of Philippians and will have a different speaker. Following an outline from the speaker there will be a separation into smaller groups to discuss particular questions raised. The sessions begin on Tuesday, February 15, with All Saints Parish Church providing speakers for the occasion. The Rev Philip Wagstaff of Fairplace will speak on the following Tuesday, February 22. On March 1, the speaker will be Pastor David Waters of New Life Church. The afternoon speaker on Tuesday, March 8, will be Joyce Cuff of the Salvation Army and the evening duties will be carried out by Charles Westlake, representing Okehampton Baptists. The final Lent Tuesday session on March 15 will feature speakers from the Society of Friends and Inspiration Church. There will also be a Lenten lunch to support Christian Aid at Fairplace Church on each Tuesday at 12.30pm during Lent. This will provide ample time to have lunch then walk across to New Life for the afternoon study.
