THE A level art, DT and photography exhibition at the Westall Centre, Kelly College opened last month.
Parents, pupils and staff joined the artists to enjoy an amazing array of artworks and imaginative creations.
AS and A2 work was on display in all subjects. Some pupils were tasked with specific coursework and exam themes, such as abstract, memories, crustaceans, experiences, encounters and meetings and combinations and alliances. The result was a fabulous range of imaginative work.
Examples of photography ranged from wild animals in South Africa by Natalia Sparrow to an ambitious social project by avid photographer Dillinger Lee, who photographed people, in England and Hong Kong, with their 'dream' represented on a board in front of them.
Other more traditional themes were also evident, such as influences from pupils' homes – from India, with some stunning photography by Emma Davidson, to Cornwall, with strong local influences of fishing and the sea by Hector Jourdan.
Many other works reflected the influence of nature and land and seascapes, including some amazingly detailed macro photography by Jessica Bailey. Some of the DT students were tasked with creating furniture from recycled objects, resulting in a fabulous chair made of bottles and ironwork chair.
Other DT works included a surfboard, made from scratch by keen surfer Christian Brown, a beautiful wooden cot, with an innovative design, which turns into a play pen, by Jack Lindsey and some very unusual jewellery created by Chelsey Taylor.
The exhibition is open until and including this Saturday, July 7.
