SHEBBEAR College student Stuart Williams has signed to play for Torquay United FC's under 12s team.

Year 7 student Stuart went through a six-week trial at the club's elite advanced development centre, and was offered a schoolboy contract after making a good impression.

A message on the centre's website said: 'This is fantastic news and shows that quality players are being picked up right across the development centre network.'

Torquay United has eight development centres across the South West.

Their main aim is to produce players capable of progressing to play for Torquay United FC Academy.

This is done by developing talented players locally within a structured, professional program for players from the age of U7 to U16 level.

While at the advanced development centre players will be able to continue their local club commitments.
