MORE than 100 walkers took part in the second Devoted to Life Walk at Cotehele in East Cornwall last month. Walkers from all over Cornwall and from further afield including a team from Somerset enjoyed either a three or five mile walk around the beautiful estat in ideal walking conditions — all completed the route within 2hrs. The event was organised thanks to the support from The National Trust. To date more than £4,000 has been raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care. The charity provides high quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families. The nurses care for almost half of all cancer patients who die at home. The Marie Curie Nurses work through the day or night, usually for 8 or 9 hours at a time, to care for the patient and allow the family to get some well earned rest.
