I FELL off my bike last Wednesday. I have three plasters on my right arm, one on each hand, one on my left arm and one on my right hip where a buckle got between me and the road — the buckle is broken. I have a few superficial bruises and grazes. My favourite long sleeve running shirt is a 'write off' and my almost new cycling jersey underneath has a fair sized hole in it. A big 'thank you' to the two people who stopped to see if I was all right. I was ok but was very pleased to see them. After getting myself off the road onto the pavement I felt faint and was close to passing out for a couple of minutes. Quite scary if I'd been on my own. One of them got me and my bike into his van and down to Tavyside surgery for a 'check-up'. This was on the advice of the other person who is a doctor at that surgery. I should apologise to those people who may have had their appointments delayed by several minutes and thank the nurse who patched me up. The injuries could have been much worse. I certainly have a warm feeling knowing that strangers are still prepared to stop and come to assistance without them knowing the extent of the inconvenience that might result. I really hope I will remember if I see someone in similar circumstances. Thanks again, Andy Houghton Whitchurch
