SINCERE congratulations to Mr Webber (Letters, Times August 26) who has done his traffic homework so thoroughly and presented his findings so clearly.

This is straightforward convincing stuff that anyone can understand, except perhaps the Devon County local services officer ?who was not completely convinced (that) closing Mill Road was causing extra traffic? (Times August 12).

This dismissive putdown will long remind us how out of touch are our masters in their ivory towers with real life as lived by ordinary mortals on the ground.

Well done again, Mr Webber.
