STAFF and customers at Somerfield's Tavistock store had to bail out late Saturday morning when fire alarms went off.
It transpired there was a fault in the alarm, but the fire brigade praised the store for the way it dealt with what could have been a real-life emergency.
l Yelverton fire brigade was called out to extinguish a van that had been deliberately set alight in Station Road, Horrabridge last week. It appears a fire-lighter was lit behind the left hand front tyre. The blaze was caught in time and the only damage was the tyre.
