Falmouth 0

Tavistock 0

THE Lambs remain unbeaten for five games after this well earned point against a side who have remained unbeaten for nineteen.

Steve Hart remained faithful to the players who had served him well in the last three matches with Mark Wall, Chris Gott and Andy Parnowski returning to join Adrian Payne on the subs bench.

Chances for each side were few and far between and the best went to Falmouth with Lambs keeper Andy Meeds denying Luke Hodges with a fingertip save from his header.

The Lambs scrambled the ball away from their goal at the start of the second half and their best chance fell to Steve Daymond after 52 minutes - the young striker cut in from the left to shoot low past Sid Taylor only to see the ball hit the side netting. The Lambs defended another situation to scramble the ball away before John Gosling saw Taylor block a shot.

Falmouth threw everything at the Lambs as the game drew to its close but the defence held firm in which Craig Hodge and Darren Babb were superb.

Not too many teams come away from Bickland Park with a point and the Lambs can be proud of their performance but will be disappointed not to get all three.

Team: Andy Meeds, Dean Tongue, John Nichol (sub Andy Parnowski 55m), Lee Beer, Craig Hodge, Darren Babb, George Pitts (sub Chris Gott 60m), Tony Cusack, John Gosling, Chris Kiely(sub Mark Wall 69m), Steve Daymond. Sub not used Adrian Payne.

TAVISTOCK'S second string had a busy week with three games in five days. Due to a lack of communication the majority of the first half was missed by reporter Eric Pinch who was at Tothill for the kick-off and only realised on the way home that the game was at Dean Cross. An about turn and on arriving he learned that the Lambs were a goal behind direct from a Nick Bloom corner.

But they came out determined to turn it around in the second half. Rob Hawkins missed two good chances before the Lambs drew level on the hour when Steve Brownlow slotted home after a through-ball from Chris Sanders.

The Lambs found the winner 15 minutes from time when they beat the offside trap for Brownlow to crash home after the ball had been cut back for his second.
