POLICE are still searching for a missing inmate from Dartmoor Prison after last week?s break-out.
Devon and Cornwall Police are continuing their liaison with the Avon and Somerset force in their hunt for Simon Allen.
Allen, 28, originally from Taunton, is still on the run and is thought to be in the Somerset area although police have not released exact details of their search.
The second abscondee, Shaun Dibble, a convicted burglar, was re-arrested in the Knowle area of Bristol on Saturday night and placed in the city?s Horfield Prison. The category B prison has tighter security levels than Dartmoor.
Police have been searching for the two prisoners after their escape from Dartmoor last Monday, June 16.
After searching the moor, police switched their attentions to the offenders? home towns and followed up other sightings in Bristol and Birmingham.
A third prisoner, Mark Picton, 22, was found in a former prison officer?s garden near the prison shortly after the escape, having broken his ankle while scaling the wall of the prison?s unsupervised exercise yard.
An inquiry has been launched by the prison service into how the prisoners managed to escape.
