Yelverton Bohemians 3rds v Werrington YELVERTON Bohemians third team returned to winning ways last week with an emphatic eight-wicket victory over second placed Werrington. With a strong bowling attack available, windy conditions and a drying track, skipper Ashleigh Phillips won the toss and elected to field. After a notable absence from the team, bowler Iain Cunningham's fiery pace was too much for the openers and he was rewarded with a wicket off his six-over spell. At the other end Paul O'Hanlon kept the batsmen tied down and picked up a number of scalps. Terry Roe replaced Cunningham and at the halfway point Werrington had scored a measly 33 off 20 overs. New player Max Copestake joined the bowling attack and settled down to pick up three wickets. After 29 overs it was all over and Werrington were all out for 80. Proving that score not to be defendable at Crapstone, YBCC set about the target. Opener Adam King was out cheaply but Mike Chetwynd and Brian Spear pushed the score along scoring 27 and 33 respectively. Following Chetwynd's dismissal, vice-captain Lee Johns saw the innings home. This was a comprehensive victory for Yelverton thirds which kept them at the top of the table Man of the match: Paul O'Hanlon.
