Tavistock Mens' 1sts 2

ECV Hornets B 0

TAVISTOCK Hockey Club mens' firsts started well, looking for an easy win against the Exeter side. But after five minutes Tavistock had to defend against almost constant attack. They did well and managed occasional offensive threats.

Tavistock's first goal came from a lot of hard work and possesion, which resulted in a short corner. The ball was passed around the 'D' and Sam Stanbury reverse sticked the pass from Paul Marchant into the goal.

Just before half time good work from Dom Stanbury found Josh Weber free, who passed to Josh Cowen who finished with a great strike into the goal.

Tavi finished the first half two nil up.

In the second half Hornets pushed hard and threatened Tavistocks defence.

Dale Wood and Matt Shine (man of the match) absorbed the pressure defending several short corners.

Keeper Paul Mingo stick saved a Hornets penalty maintaining the shutout.
