THE Ramblers, and Tavistock Ramblers in particular, are off to a great start in 2013.
Tavistock Ramblers recently welcomed a new chairman, Ian Gasper. Ian said: 'Walking is a great way to get fit and stay healthy. We are a friendly walking group who always welcome new members.'
Ramblers do understand that not everyone wants to walk with a walking group and may prefer to walk on their own or with just their family. For this reason they have launched 'Ramblers Routes' which is an online library of walking routes across Britain.
These have been created for walkers by Ramblers volunteers. There are hundreds of free routes for anyone to enjoy, simply by registering on the Ramblers' website. Hundreds more premium routes are also available as a special benefit for Ramblers members.
This growing collection of walking routes caters for all walkers, from short urban walks to introduce new people to walking, walks suitable for families and pushchairs, routes taking in history, coast or woodland, to longer distance moorland or coastal walks for more experienced walkers.
Each route has an online route card, with step by step descriptions, points of interest and advice on how to get to the start point.
To find these routes, and for more information about Ramblers, visit the Tavistock Ramblers website at http://www.tavistockramblers.org.uk">www.tavistockramblers.org.uk or the national Ramblers website at http://www.ramblers.org.uk">www.ramblers.org.uk and follow the links to the Ramblers Routes.
