Approximately 240 staff and senior school pupils from Shebbear College all took to the roads recently for a 10km run/walk around the roads to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind organised by head of games Steve Chapman. Although some of the pupils felt that a 10km run was beyond their capabilities they still decided to contribute with assorted contributions such as a wheelbarrow push, cycling, three-legged walk and an ambitious attempt at walking the course backwards! Mr. Chapman was delighted with the response and the determination of all who competed — it has so far raised more than £900 for the charity.
