FATHER Christmas will be interrupting his busy seasonal schedule to make an appearance at a special gift fair at Tavistock Pannier Market this Saturday.

But he will not be the only celebrity at the Christmas fair, as chef Peter Gorton from the Horn of Plenty will be there giving a cooking demonstration with ideas for Christmas nibbles.

The event, from 9am to 4pm, will be raising money for Children's Hospice South West.

Santa will be at the market from noon to 3pm handing out a free gift to every child up to the age of ten, Stannary Brass Band will be performing from 11am to noon and Tavistock Musical Theatre Company will be singing Christmas carols in the afternoon.

A big prize draw will also be held to add to the fun and raise valuable charity cash.
