EAGLE-EYED stargazers are being sought for Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty's landscape monitoring programme.
These 'night owls' are needed to help record the night sky from two main points in the Tamar Valley.
The survey will be repeated every five years to compare the effects of light pollution, which will help planners and conservationists to think about the use of street lighting, as well as domestic and commercial light output.
The sky-watchers will need to survey two allocated locations within the AONB on a cloudless night, with no full moon.
The surveyors will have to find Orion and then count the stars within a defined area, recording their exact position, time and date. This important information will then be submitted as part of the AONB's monitoring survey.
For more information contact Rosemary Teverson, AONB's project manager, on 01579 351083.
