THE 2443 Squadron of the Air Cadets held its annual open day on Saturday June 25, showcasing a number of activities and putting on displays throughout the day.

The cadets showcased their participation in the Ten Tors and Four Peaks challenges.

Guests also had the chance to see a range of displays from the cadets highlight some of the regular disciplines they engage in, including field training, drills, and adventure training.

Flying Officer Karen Wayne said: 'We were very lucky with the weather, as we had a nice day. Mayor McDonald showed up, and stayed for a couple of burgers off the barbecue!'

Flying Officer Wayne expressed thanks to the Mayor, and to the civilian committee for all their hard work in making the open day a success.

Those aged between 13 and 17 can join the cadets. The parade nights are Monday and Thursday from 7pm to 9.30pm.
