Ivybridge U12s 14 Tavistock U12s 10 TAVISTOCK faced their old rivals in the rain, hail and snow last Sunday morning and played their hearts out in atrocious conditions. Ivybridge?s quicker forwards dominated most of the first half makingTavistock defend their line for long periods. A break out by scrum half Philip Snell with a run the length of the pitch was Tavistock?s best chance of the half. Snell was unfortunately lost to injury soon after. Forwards Callum Thompson and Daniel Oner battled hard in defence and counter attacks. Ivybridge scored both their tries in the first half from close quarters. Tavistock uncovered renewed vigour after the break and kept Ivybridge in their own half resulting in two tries for centre back Barnably Frost. The first from quick ball off a five metre scrum and the second pushed over by the forwards. The depleted Tavistock squad was plagued by injury and it was the great determination and grit of the surviving players that pulled this tie round to two tries apiece. This Sunday the team travel to Collumpton.
