Okehampton Sports and Fitness Festival will celebrate its tenth year with an exciting programme of more than 40 different sports and activities, starting this weekend.
The week-long festival is organised by Okehampton Community Recreation Association (OCRA).
The event last year saw a record 1,600 people participating. It is open to everyone, including children, youths, families and adults of all ages.
This year there will be new activities for all to enjoy, including a golf tournament at the Ashbury course and a special focus on family fun with a bike ride along the Granite Way.
There will also be an evening of rounders and boxing sessions for teenagers and adults, with top coach from Launceston Boxing Club Des Charnock.
Also on offer are some exciting and diverse dance opportunities with a variety of instructors.
Manager at OCRA Stuart Lord said: 'This week is a great opportunity to try something new or get a team together with family and friends.
'The programme is extremely diverse and celebrates the fantastic local sporting and activity scene.
'Costs are greatly reduced and in many cases free and equipment is available, so as many people as possible can participate in this great community event — come along and have some fun!'
The event will also host competitions, including fishing, rounders, football, skating, badminton, squash, tennis, golf, cricket, netball, putting and cycling the ten-mile time trial.
There is also the Moor Than 10k run, which takes in some of the most scenic views in Devon.
There will be over 30 have-a-go sessions for everyone to try, from archery, swimming, sailing, judo, water polo and much more.
Plymouth Albion Rugby players will also be giving coaching sessions, as well as England frisbee players.
The Skate and Bike Jam that last year drew crowds of more than 100 people and outstanding performances, will also be at the event.
