MEMBERS of the public can enjoy a 'spooky' twilight stroll at the end of the month, raising valuable cash for a worthy cause.

Following last year's successful twilight stroll along Drake's Trail, the Lions Club of Tavistock is once again joining forces with volunteers from Children's Hospice South West for another late afternoon stroll — but this time it will have a 'spooky' theme with entrants being encouraged to come in fancy dress — with prizes on offer.

The event will take place on Sunday, October 27 and will start at Tavistock Football Club in Crowndale Road, wending its way through Bishopsmead and Tiddybrook, onto the cycle track at Anderton Lane and then on through Grenofen tunnel to Gem Bridge where walkers will be greeted by some scary surprises! The return journey uses the same route and at the end, hot food and drinks will be available from the Lions and members of the Tavistock Community Football Club.

Registration for the walk, which will be fully marshalled by members of the Lions Club, will be from 4pm at the Football Club where there will be a 'Spooky Fayre' featuring various activities for the youngsters. Entry is £2 for adults and £1 for children between the ages of 5 and 16 and under 5s can take part for free.
