PUPILS from Mount House School in Tavistock have raised a staggering £3,000 for the young people of Dame Hannah Rogers' School in Ivybridge, and this week four of the walkers met some of the young people for whom they raised the money.

More than 100 pupils, with their friends and families, took part in a sponsored walk on Dartmoor. The 10km walk involved climbing 1,200ft from the school to Great Mis Tor. The six pupils — Jessye Phillips, Jessica Huntington, Hunter Strand, and Marcus Watson — were the children who gained the most sponsorship on the walk. They were accompanied by the organiser of the walk, Jo Massey, wife of Mount House headmaster Jim Massey. During their visit the children looked around the school, and metmany of the children and staff.

Pippa Sale of Dame Hannah's said: 'We are really impressed with what the young Mount House walkers have achieved and we are so grateful that they chose to support the young people of Dame Hannah's.'
