ON behalf of the Lamerton Parish Hall Committee, may I express my sincere thanks to everyone who supported our duck race and barbecue on Sunday May 22 in ?Broady Field? Lamerton by kind permission of Mr and Mrs W Eggins. Undeterred by the wet weather, the event was extremely well supported and enjoyed by so many. Special thanks to the sponsors of the race ? Carr?s Garage, P Statton and Eqwest Veterinary Centre. The event cleared a profit of £874.73 for the Lamerton Sports and Community Centre project. Daniel Worth completed the 32 miles Dartmoor Dscovery Ultra Marathon in 5hrs 29minutes on Saturday June 4. He organised a sweepstake with the winners being Martin Davey, Mrs Mary Willans and Mrs Sue Dawe. Daniel kindly donated £70.19 to the centre project. This is the second time that Daniel has ?run? for the project; he previously ran in the London Marathon in April, 2003. Fundraising is still ongoing for the project with events and activities etc running on a regular basis. We are extremely grateful to everyone for their continued support.
