THE Tavi Specials committee received a welcome £1,000 boost from the Clare Milne Trust recently, to help towards transport for the teams for the coming season.
The charity trust helps good causes all over the West Country and were happy to donate this amount to the Devon Ability Counts squad.
Sally Perkin who runs the Tavy Club and is a strong supporter of the group, holds meetings and fundraisers for the Tavi Specials and the Son-Rise Cup and plays an important role on both committees.
Sheena Lewis, treasurer, said: 'We are really grateful to the Clare Milne Trust for this much needed donation as transporting the teams for the season is very costly.
'We also are all very thankful to Sally for the use of her club. She really supports us with all we do and has been working with us for seven years now. Sally is like one of the family and we couldn't do without her help. She is a real star!'
