CONTINUING its 750th Anniversary celebrations throughout July, All Saints Church is holding another special service for this week.
On Sunday, July 24, the church will be remembering those who have died in a sombre remembrance service. Those who have a loved one buried in the churchyard or who had a loved one's funeral at the church are invited to come and remember them.
The Rev Stephen Cook said: 'The church has been the centre of celebration and sadness over the centuries. The churchyard is the last resting place of generations of local people and is much visited. The church has always believed that those who have gone before us and now worship God in Heaven, are still part of our church. We would like to mark this by remembering all those whose funerals have taken place here or who are buried in the land around.
'Anyone who has a loved one here is welcome to join us and if they would like their name to be included in the prayers there will be an opportunity to do so.'
Events celebrating the anniversary of the consecration of All Saints Church have been taking place throughout July.
The service will begin at 6.30pm — the main celebration of this momentous anniversary takes place July 31.
